## FAQ

### How much does Stripe charge on $100?

2.9% + $0.30 for a US card: $3.20, so $96.80 reaches your balance.

### What does Stripe charge for international cards and currency conversion?

1.5% more for cards issued outside the US and 1% more when the charge has to be converted. A $100.00 payment with both costs $5.70.

### Is Stripe cheaper than PayPal?

For card payments, yes: on $100.00 you keep $96.80 with Stripe and $96.52 with a card through PayPal Checkout. PayPal or Venmo balance payments cost 3.49% + $0.49 and leave $96.02.

### Are Stripe fees refunded when I refund a payment?

No. Stripe keeps the processing fee of the original payment when you refund it, so a refund costs you that fee.

### How do I charge so that I receive an exact amount?

Add the fixed fee to the amount you want and divide by 1 minus the percentage fee, then round up to the cent. To receive $100.00: charge $104.12 through PayPal Checkout or $103.30 on Stripe. Switch the calculator to “I want to receive”.
