How the comparison works
Each marketplace uses the same fee data as its own calculator, so the numbers always match.
Seller-shipped marketplaces use your shipping cost. FBA uses its own fulfillment fee plus your cost of shipping stock to Amazon.

Which marketplace has the lowest fees?
It depends on price and size. Under about $15 Etsy and eBay usually keep less in dollars, but their per-order fees weigh more on cheap items; Amazon's referral fee is a flat share, and FBA fees grow fast with size and weight. Enter your own product to see your ranking.
Can I compare marketplaces in other countries?
Not yet. The comparison uses US rates for Amazon.com, eBay.com and an Etsy shop based in the US. UK and EU comparisons are on the way; the Etsy calculator already covers 9 shop countries.
Why is Amazon FBA often last?
FBA fees include picking, packing and delivery, so they replace your own shipping cost, plus a month of storage. For small, light items that is often more than you pay to ship yourself. FBA can still be worth it for the Prime badge and the time saved.
Do you include advertising costs?
No. Ads are optional and vary by seller, so the comparison leaves them out. The eBay and Amazon calculators let you add Promoted Listings or PPC spend.
What does Amazon FBM mean here?
Fulfilled by Merchant: you list on Amazon and ship orders yourself. You pay the referral fee (and the closing fee for media) but no FBA fee. We assume the Professional selling plan, whose monthly subscription replaces the per-item fee of the Individual plan, and leave the subscription out of the per-unit numbers.
